Retired state Supreme Court justice and U.S. Senate candidate Chet Traylor of Monroe claims he holds the moral high ground in his campaign to unseat incumbent U.S. Sen. David Vitter, R-Metairie, in next month’s Republican Party primary.
“Chet’s reputation is impeccable,” Traylor’s campaign manager Lev Dawson said last week as the campaign opened.
Both Dawson and Traylor have said there is little difference politically between the two Republican candidates, but that Vitter’s personal foibles — including a 2007 prostitution scandal when Vitter’s name appeared in the phone records of the so-called “D.C. Madam” and his continued employment of an aide accused of attacking his girlfriend with a knife in 2008 — could be exploited by Democrats if Vitter is the Republican candidate in the general election in November.

Maybe this Earp: Saints for Sinnersis incredibly well written, but I refuse to pat them on the back for giving Wyatt Earp lasers instead of revolvers. Its really not that much more creative than your average Hollywood remake. Lets hope Sam Raimis more creative when making it than they were when coming up with it.
I suppose I shouldnt complain. Its not like Raimi had anything more creative to do. His other potential next project based on World of Warcraft and, since its a video game, we all know how that would have turned out: horribly. At least thats my stance until someone makes one that doesnt suck. So give me Wyatt Earp in the default comic setting, why not. At least itll spare us from sitting through yet another failed video game movie and judging from photos Ive seen of the comic, it contains a lot of naked strippers. Naked strippers is good, isnt it? I guess not every filmmaker can be as creative as Christopher Nolan. The last time Sam Raimi tried to be original, no one bothered to buy a ticket.

Man arrested in Metairie on human trafficking charges; accused of forcing North Carolina teens into prostitution

A North Carolina man with a previous murder conviction was arrested Friday at a Metairie motel for allegedly bringing an 18-year-old mother and her 19-year-old friend to the New Orleans area and forcing them to work as prostitutes.
Kudirka Tierny Cureton, 38, of Charlotte, was booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna with two counts of human trafficking, promoting prostitution, false imprisonment and possession of marijuana, according to a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
The victims told investigators that Cureton forced their cooperation with beatings and stories about his murderous past. He also held hostage a 6-month-old baby belonging to one of the girls, threatening to take the child away if the woman didn’t go out on “dates,” the reports said.

FILE – In this March 11, 2009, file photo Sen. David Vitter, R-La., speaks during a Capitol Hill news conference in Washington. Vitter’s facing possibly his worst political nightmare, a surprise challenger with all the right conservative credentials and none of the baggage of the incumbent’s prostitution scandal. Chet Traylor, the first Republican elected to Louisiana’s Supreme Court since Reconstruction, made a last-minute decision to take on Vitter after a fresh scandal for the first-term lawmaker: An aide had remained on Vitter’s payroll after pleading guilty to charges stemming from a knife-wielding incident with an ex-girlfriend. Traylor, a retired Louisiana Supreme Court justice, is essentially running on the same political platform as Vitter, basing his opposition purely on Vitter’s electability. Traylor says he’s worried Vitter – the center of a 2007 prostitution scandal and a recent incident concerning an aide convicted of attacking and threatening to kill his girlfriend – would make an easy target for his Democratic challenger during the general election.

NEW ORLEANS — Talk about Republican Sen. David Vitter’s worst political nightmare — a surprise challenger with all the right conservative credentials and none of the baggage of the incumbent’s prostitution scandal.

The incumbent has responded to Traylor’s entry into the race in much the same way he handled the prostitution scandal, by keeping quiet about it. His campaign declined to comment for this story.
In 2007, Vitter would confess only to a “serious sin” after his phone number turned up among records for a Washington prostitution ring. He tersely denied later accusations that he was a customer of New Orleans prostitutes and again declined to answer questions.

In summer 2008, the Obama campaign released a copy of the document you get when you ask the vital records people for a birth certificate. It shows he was born in Hawaii, where officials have repeatedly confirmed his citizenship.
But the birthers insist that the really important document is the double-super-secret birth certificate locked away in some basement. You don’t have to be a detective to figure out what happens when another document gets released. Or another, or the one after that.
Sen. Vitter has admitted to an indiscretion with a Washington call girl service. We’d all like our political leaders to be above such things, but recent events show that philandering is all too common. The senator has been lambasted for keeping an aide on his payroll after the aide was accused of cutting an ex-girlfriend during an argument. Maybe Vitter made a bad call, and maybe he was being loyal.

The flap came two days after former state Supreme Court Justice Chet Traylor unexpectedly filed to run against the first-term senator in the Aug. 28 GOP primary, leading some local Republicans to believe Vitter was seeking to shore up his conservative base.
“I think he’s just solidifying his base, and making sure no one is going to run to his right,” said Jeff Crouere, a Tea Party leader and activist in Louisiana. “I think Vitter knows what he’s doing. He seems to be pretty aware of politics in Louisiana.”
Democrats view Vitter as vulnerable this fall because of several scandals in his first term in the Senate, although polls show him leading likely Democratic nominee Rep. Charlie Melancon (D-La.) by comfortable, double-digit margins.
Traylor acknowledged in an interview with POLITICO that some of Vitter’s scandals, including his admission that he made “a very serious sin in my past” in conjunction in a prostitution scandal with the “D.C. Madam” in 2007, were part of his motivation for running.

The Real World: New Orleans Recap-Hooking up big time!
Hooking Up was the main theme of Episode 3 of The Real World: New Orleans. Jemmye and McKenzie seemed to drive everyone mad with their crazy antics.
McKenzie tried all tricks to play mind games with Ryan but all her efforts were dashed when a close friend of hers visited them and Ryan started giving her all the attention.
In this episode almost everyone was seeing hooking up with someone or the other. Preston was labeled as the pimp of the house when it became obvious that his every night was kept apart for one night stands.
He was desperate to show his roommates that he was on a hooking up spree and kept everyone asking for condoms.
Jemmye and Knight finally slept with each other after all that bet that he would be Jemmye’s first white guy. In fact the first night before they got dirty with each other, Jemmye got totally drunk and stalked Knight the entire night.

McKenzie did her best to play mind games with Ryan, but when her close friend came to visit the house and stole Ryan’s complete attention, McKenzie lashed out and did the best she could to break them apart. Things seemed to end sourly when her friend supposedly hooked up with Ryan and left the house without acknowledging McKenzie. McKenzie spent so much time hounding her friend that she obviously left without notice because she didn’t feel like being lectured.
Overall, the entire episode was full of hookups. Preston became the “pimp” of the house when he seemed to have a one-night stand every other night. He called one of his hookup buddies “Big Thang.” He kept asking Knight for his condoms, and it was obvious that he wanted his roommates to know that he was hooking up. Anyone concerned with their privacy would have at least equipped themselves with their own condoms so that they wouldn’t have to give everyone a disclaimer every night.
