It reads, in part: Petitioner does not know Mencken’s true identity with certainty, and therefore cannot serve a civil complaint on him at this time, but the evidence discussed herein and more fully examined in the attached report by forensic linguist and former FBI profiler James R. Fitzgerald strongly indicates that Mencken is in fact a member of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana acting outside the scope of his employment.
Letten has not commented on the claim, and on Wednesday, Perricone told the I-Team that any comment would have to come from Letten.
Legal analysts said, if true, the allegations could be damaging to a department that has earned a reputation as fair and effective in addressing corruption and other federal crimes in the New Orleans area. Though appointed by a Republican administration, Letten was kept in the highly coveted post following the transition at the White House. His support has crossed party lines.
Perricone is a longtime member of Letten’s team and has been involved in cases ranging from the Canal Street brothel to Operation Wrinkled Robe.

Faye Sheets thesis defense
Friday, March 9,
2012, 11:00 AMAylesworth SE, Room 351
Faye Sheets will present her thesis, “State Injustice: Trapping Black Women as Sex Offenders for Prostitution in “The Big Easy.” Using a critical feminist framework this study explores the state’s implementation of the Crime Against Nature charge, a felony and sex offence, to convict impoverished Black women involved in the street sex economy in New Orleans.
Black women are disproportionately charged as sex offenders and criminalized while the state’s treatment of the sex economy in the French Quarter is treated differently. This is a qualitative case study that provides an analysis of data from interviews with sex workers, a community advocate, a public defender, a judge and a prosecutor from New Orleans. Committee members: Roe Bubar, J.D., chair, Karina Cespedes, Ph.D., Norberto Valdez, Ph.D., Courtenay Daum, Ph.D.

Kenner police post online prostitution ad to catch 9 alleged johns

Kenner police said today they arrested nine men in a prostitution sting operation using an online advertisement. The police put the prostitution ad on backpage.com, the same website that Kylan Laurent used last year to find two women he murdered and the third whom he choked unconscious.

The two-day operation was part of what police called a continuous assault on numerous complaints of prostitutes using the website to set up dates at Kenner hotels for sex with customers.
Police have used backpage.com both to meet up with prostitution customers and to set up meetings with prostitutes advertising themselves on the site, said Lt. Wayne McInnis, Police Department spokesman.
The latest operation led to these people being booked with soliciting for prostitutes:

Limbaugh Apologizes While Liberals Insult And Destroy Free Speech
Written by Administrator Tuesday, 06 March 2012 15:37
On Saturday, talk radio giant Rush Limbaugh apologized for calling Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke a “prostitute” and a “slut.” In testimony before Congress, she demanded free birth control prescriptions, noting that without insurance coverage it could cost a woman $3,000 over three years of law school. Fluke claimed that she was “embarrassed” at the pharmacy counter when she discovered for “the first time” that such contraceptives were not included in the Georgetown health insurance plan.
It is hard to believe that a professional activist like Fluke did not know about Georgetown’s insurance plan. She has a long history working in liberal organizations and is the former President of Law Students for Reproductive Justice and former Vice President of the Women’s Legal Alliance. Her liberal activism is why the 30-year old was invited by pro-choice Democrats to testify on Capital Hill. Politically speaking, it is clear that Ms. Fluke is no virgin to the process.

There is little about the choreography that’s strikingly original: with its long fluent phrases and wide-angled body shapes, it’s reminiscent of early Jirí Kylián or Christopher Bruce. But there’s a propulsive kick, a fierce internal energy to the movement that reacts to the score in exhilarating detail. In articulating the currents of territorial emotion that crackle between the dancers, it elicits some of the strongest performances I’ve yet seen from this company.
Captured easily dominates the two other works that open the programme: Jonathan Goddard’s Running Silent, and Jonathan Watkins’s Together Alone. Although, I like very much the latter’s witty rhythmic interplay of languid and sharp. Christopher Hampson’s Storyville takes up the whole of the second half. It’s a New Orleans take on the Seven Deadly Sins (much of its accompanying music is Kurt Weill), tracking the downfall of innocent farmgirl Nola from prostitution to alcoholic ruin. Hampson tells his story deftly, with just seven dancers and no set. But in contrast to Captured, its handling of sex and corruption looks politely balletic.
